Stunning singer and star of The Big Reunion, Lindsay Armaou is known for being part of the chart topping band B*Witched. But this beauty is also an actress and is about to hit our screens as a stripping nun, Lindsay tells us how she loves to play characters who are not like herself and why B*Witched have such a strong bond.What has it been like reuniting with fellow B*witched band mates?
It has been great! The four of us shared something so life changing and intense back then that there’s a really strong bond between us. It’s been lovely finding that again and of course having the chance to get back on stage and do it all again has been great fun.

How did you react when ITV first approached you to be a part of ‘The Big Reunion’?
I always had a feeling we would do something together as a band again, I just didn’t know how or when. When itv2 approached us I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get back together and something we would regret if we didn’t do. It felt right to me, even though I knew it wouldn’t be easy.

Was there any tension with your fellow band mates when you first reunited?
The first time the four of us reunited was very tense. There were things that came up that had to be talked about in order for us to move on and feel happy to work together again, and some of that was uncomfortable. They showed the really tense bits of our conversation, but there was a lot more to it. We talked a lot and hugged. It was like therapy! The thing is there is a lot of love there for each other so we were willing to listen to each other. That’s important. And that’s why our relationships are really good now. We are having such a good time together.

What challenges have you faced being in the ITV documentary?
The whole thing has been a challenge! Getting back to a standard and gelling as a band didn’t happen overnight, we had work to do. Also on a personal level, delving into your past and revisiting insecurities and difficult times is hard. I found the attention on my personal life a big challenge to deal with. I’m a private person and reality tv didn’t exist 10 years ago so it was something new to me.

Reuniting with B*witched and starring in the ITV2 reality documentary, ironically resulted in the Clayton album It was all meant to be reaching number 6 in the UK’s Country Music Chart. Did that come as a shock to you?
Yes it was a very pleasant surprise! I recorded the Clayton album back in 2008 and a few people asked about it on twitter so I put it up on iTunes and cd baby and tweeted that it was available to download for those who had asked. It kind of took on a life of its own and people kept tweeting and retweeting about it and it just spiralled. I kept getting tweets and texts saying it was climbing the charts and I thought there must be some mistake! But sure enough it peaked at number 6 in the uk country charts. I was delighted. I hope those who bought it have enjoyed it.

As well as being a very talented singer, you are also acting in a film called ‘Two days in the smoke’. Can you tell us a bit about the film?I went and studied drama for two years because I’ve always loved the idea of acting. ‘Two Days In the Smoke’ is a British gangster film coming out later this year. It’s based in London and is about a drug deal that goes very wrong and a love story that blossoms along the way. There are some very comical moments in the film and my character Georgina is involved in one or two of them.

Can you tell us a bit about your character?
She is a call girl who dresses as a nun and strips! She’s also a bit of a prankster and manages to cause some trouble – she was great fun to play haha! I’ve also written, produced and performed a song for the soundtrack of the film. It’s called ‘ No Smoke Without Fire’ .

Has acting always been a passion of yours?
Music was my first passion and I never imagined I could feel the same way about anything else. But with acting I have found another true passion. In some ways it’s a study of the human condition which I find fascinating. To become another character you have to know what makes them tick. I get to express parts of myself through other characters that I wouldn’t normally. That’s why I love playing characters that are so far removed from who I am. Like Georgina the stripping nun!

What are your plans for the future?
Im going back on the road with B*witched and the Big Reunion tour again in December so I’m really looking forward to that. I’m also looking forward to focusing on my acting. I’d love to do more films or some TV drama! I reckon I’d play a good psycho bitch haha! Again, very far removed from who I am of course.
