British Actress Alice Amter Celebrates 100 Episodes of The Big Bang Theory

Alice Amter has enjoyed playing Mrs. Koothrappali in the award winning comedy ‘The Big Bang Theory’ for five seasons.  This wonderful show, helmed by TV sitcom Mogul Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly) is no stranger to receiving mulitiple Award nominations and wins, having won both People’s Choice & TV Guide Awards for ‘Favourite Comedy Series’,  as well wins & nominations for the Golden Globes,  EMMYs  and an AFITV Award.  This year The Big Bang Theory in nominated for a SAG Award & Producer’s Guild Award for Best Comedy Series.

You may not recognise Alice from her role as Mrs. Koothrapali as she is much younger and more glamorous than her on screen persona as an Indian mother, but that is just testimony to her talent and  the array of characters she can aptly play. Her versatility has lead Alice to be known in Hollywood as ‘The Chameleon’, hardly surprising when you see her play characters as diverse as an ER doctor in her first television role opposite Hollywoood heavy hitter George Clooney in ‘ER’, Southern trash in ‘The Good Girl’ opposite Jennifer Aniston and a Spanish speaking assassin in ‘A Man Apart’ alongside Vin Diesel as well as an array of  roles of various ethnicities  which allow Alice to display her linguistic skills.

Recently Alice has also enjoyed roles in the hit comedy ‘Outsourced’ playing an Indian fortune-teller as well as a stint on thelongest running Soap Opera ‘General Hospital’, playing a Beverly Hills Jeweler.

Equally adept at both comedy and drama, she continues to gain notoriety as one of the most versatile actresses in the industry, and can be frequently seen demonstrating her comedic chops as Mrs. Koothrappali in the hugely successful CBS TV sitcom ‘The Big BangTheory’, now in syndication in the United States on Fox, TBS, & MyNetwork, and also seen in 70 countries across the globe.
