EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Scream Star Skeet Ulrich

Actor and producer, Skeet Ulrich is known for both his appearances on both our big and little screens. With credits such as Scream, Jericho and Law and Order: LA in his pocket, it is no surprise that we were very excited to talk to Skeet about his involvement in the award winning short film ‘Point Mugu’.

Point Mugu is a short suspense eco-thriller directed by regional Emmy award winner Francis Dreis. Renowned Scream actor, Skeet Ulrich, brings his talent and story telling experience on and off screen, as an actor/producer. Written and produced by the two lead actresses Amelia Jackson-Gray and Erin Ross. Point Mugu is about two sisters, grieving the loss of their mother, who go camping to escape their anguish, but after meeting a mysterious Hitchhiker (Skeet Ulrich) their night takes a turn for the worse and becomes far more sinister than they ever imagined.

Thank you for taking the time to speak with us. Please tell us about your role in Point Mugu?

I play an unnamed hitch hiker who may or may not be up to no good.

You have won a number of awards for playing the role of the Hitchhiker- Congrats! But did you face any challenges with portraying your character?

Nothing outside of the normal challenges. I chose to focus on what it would be like to not have really spoken to anyone for months since he had been hiking alone for so long. That was an interesting challenge for sure!

Do you have any funny stories to share that happened on set?

We had Erin Ross’s birthday on set! That was fun!

In 3 words how would you describe your experience with Point Mugu?

Awakening, rewarding, dedication.

I play an unnamed hitch hiker who may or may not be up to no good.

You have been a very popular face amongst both our big and little screens. Some of your other credits include Law and Order: LA, CSI: NY, Jericho and of course Scream. What has been your biggest achievement in your acting career so far?

I have had the good fortune of working along side some of the most amazing creative forces in this business. That is my biggest achievement!

Which industry do you prefer to work in and why, TV or Film?

I prefer film because of its nuance.

If you could choose one actor you would like to work with, who would it be?

Christian Bale

What is your favourite inspirational quote and why?

“Be what you wish to seem.” – David Mamet

What are your plans for the near future?

I am finishing the edit on my directorial debut The Girl On The Roof. I am waiting to hear about a pilot I made in November. And I am developing three other stories and rolling out a film in March called “50 to 1”. It’s the story of the 2009 Kentucky Derby winning horse and the group that got him there. It was directed by Oscar winner Jim Wilson and it’s an incredible under dog story full of heart and humor!

I prefer film because of its nuance.
