We got a welcome glimpse into Dr. Birdwood, played by Natasha Leigh on BBC’s Holby City and she already has us wanting more.   This beautiful Australian actress is known for hits like Underbelly and Neighbours, but lucky for us she spent some time in the UK giving Holby a welcome lift!  In her first episode Dr. Birdwood causes Havoc in Holby with her strong will, bubbly personality and high ambition.  Just Celebrity were lucky enough to get to chat to Natasha to talk more about her character and what we can expect next!

JC:  We love your character Dr Birdwood, are you anything like her?

NL:  I have some very intense scenes later in her story, which is always a blessing. To have something to get your teeth into & test yourself is perfect for any artist.

JC:  What was your favourite part of playing her?

JC:  You have made quite an impression on us in Holby, will the character come back?

NL:  Nothing is concrete, but I have really enjoyed my strong, succinct storyline. It’s been like a film and I’m happy with it.

JC:  Who did you enjoying working with most in Holby?

NL:  Hugh Quarshie and I have most scenes together, so we were able to bond over the filming. He is an amazing actor & I learnt so much by working with him. He is also such a fun, interesting, deep person, so most of the time we were just laughing on set.

JC:  How do you find living in the UK?

NL:  I love the UK! London is very much like Melbourne, as in it has four seasons in one day – so the weather isn’t a shock. I love the stunning buildings, the history here is something we don’t have in Australia.

JC:  Dr Birdwood seems a little impulsive, can you give us any clues about what she will do next?

NL:   She is very impulsive indeed. She is always running before she can walk (which is like me a bit… I don’t know the word ‘Patience’) Lets just say Lilah oversteps a mark which snowballs into some very dangerous dealings..

JC:  How is she a Doctor when you seem so young?

NL:  A medical degree takes five years to do, so she went in at 18, she still had a couple of years of experience to become at CT1.

JC:  What reaction have you had from the British public?

NL: I’m yet to get more feedback because it is still early days.. but every one seems to love Lilah. “a breath of fresh air to Holby” was a comment I received on face book, which is lovely.
