CELEBRITY NEWS – Stars shine at the HollyShorts Film Festival Opening Night

HollyShorts Film Festival literally rolled out the huge red carpet to welcome its stars who were supporting their films on the opening night. Adrianne Palicki joined some of her cast members from the short film Thoughts and Prayers, Ben Proudfoot presented his new documentary Mink!, Tara Westwood showcased her directorial debut Triggered alongside some of the stars including Isiah Whitlock Jr. and Oscar Winner Trayvon Free screened his new flick 38 and the Garden.

Other stars in attendance were Oscar Winner Andrew Carlberg who has multiple films at the festival, breakout star Lisette Olivera and Rob Morrow to name just a few!

The festival has a top notch celebrity jury this year including Bryan Cranston, Blair Underwood, Jennifer Morrison, Stephanie Laing, Joanna Quinn, David Dastmalchian, Adaku Ononogbo, Janina Gavankar and Jeremy Swift.

Hollyshorts programmers Nicole Castro, Daniel Sol and Theo Dumont said: “It’s truly a pleasure to announce this year’s official selections for HollyShorts as we embark on our 18th anniversary of the Oscar-qualifying festival with two Academy Award winners this past year and six nominees. This year, we have a record of 41 countries represented in the official selections, which truly speaks to the global impact short films are having. We can’t wait to share these incredibly talented short films at this year’s festival and thank all the filmmakers who have submitted along with all of our amazing staff and incredible sponsors for supporting us.”
